The US Government is now destroying Native American burial sites in Arizona, to build a wall on the border with Mexico. Located in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, the destruction may include cultural artefacts thousands of years old.
The unassuming Monument Hill was the burial place of rival Apache warriors, who were killed and laid to rest by the Tohono O’odham Nation (aka Papago, which was the customary English name and which was rejected by the Tohono O’odham tribal government).
The damage caused during the construction of this part of the border wall is made possible by waving numerous laws by the White House, that protect Native American graves, the environment and endangered species.
